Damn it, life moves really quickly. I remember the days as a little one wishing the days away especially around my birthday or Christmas. Now I cant keep track of days as they speed past me. Last weekend, Anna and I moved into a new apartment. The sixth month lease on our old apartment ran out on January 31st. We enjoyed the old apartment but it was time to move into a bigger place with the long term security of an one year lease. The former landlords were in the process of selling the house so we weren't sure what would happen even if we could stay there until May when Anna graduates. The new place has the old charm you would expect from Jenkintown. Our apartment is one of four in a rather old house. The worn hard wood floors reflected the many generations of people who have inhabited the space. We actually have room for a couch and other things you would normally find in house. The old apartment will own a special place in both our memories since it was our first apartment. Yet it was time to move on.
"Time to move on" may perfectly describe my current state at work. I finally gained complete entrance into the Mutual Fund department after 9 months of doing the same work as each member of the department. The pay increase is welcomed but in the end my future would remain tethered to a phone trying to convince people to do things they should already be doing. Work no longer represents a challenge to me. I find myself searching the Internet for deeper financial knowledge or random things such as brewing beer at home which I may touch on later in this post. The current job allows me to be selective of my next job. I possess the freedom to turn down jobs I may not want in search of the perfect next job. Do I know what that perfect job is yet.......hardly. However, I am sure I will have some clue when I get that job offer. Life is truly an adventure.
I am currently siting in the upstairs area of a great coffeshop we found in Ches nut Hill. The unassuming shop is right across from Borders in a long line of cute little shops. The coffee lacks the mass produced feel that so many popular coffee shops create. The beans are roasted on site with the care only employed by a small local shop. Each cup bursts with flavors normally unknown in the typical cup of coffee. The only annoying thing about the shop is that it closes so early in the evening that Anna and I can only come by during the weekend. Maybe in the near future we will become one of the regulars. Anyway, I think this is enough of my rambling. We will hopefully be getting DSL at home which may allow me to post more regularly. For the time being, I bid thee ado.
